Job Description

Vali Capital LLP is a UK-based private equity firm focused on real assets and development-led investment strategies, deploying capital through GP-led funds and bespoke SPV structures. The firm targets value-add and opportunistic opportunities across residential, mixed-use, and specialist property sectors, working closely with operating and development partners to drive returns.

Vali Capital is seeking a highly motivated Private Equity Intern to join its investment team. This role provides direct exposure to the full private equity investment lifecycle, from origination and underwriting through to execution, asset management, and exit planning. The intern will work closely with the General Partner and senior investment professionals in a lean, high-responsibility environment.

This position is designed for an early-career candidate seeking a pathway into front-office private equity, with potential progression into an Investment Analyst or Associate role within 1–3 years, subject to performance and fund growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and reviewing financial models, including development appraisals, cash-flow models, IRR, MOIC, yield, and sensitivity analysis

  • Support underwriting of acquisitions and development-led investments in line with fund return targets

  • Assist with commercial, financial, and operational due diligence on live transactions

  • Review planning, construction budgets, cost plans, and development programmes in collaboration with internal and external teams

  • Prepare and support Investment Committee materials, including IC papers, models, and supporting analysis

  • Assist with transaction execution, including coordination with legal, valuation, debt, and planning advisors

  • Support portfolio monitoring, tracking performance against business plans and fund KPIs

  • Contribute to value-creation initiatives, including refinancing analysis, repositioning strategies, and exit modelling

  • Conduct market research on comparable transactions, pricing, yields, and macroeconomic trends affecting real assets

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Real Estate, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline

  • 0–2 years’ relevant experience (including internships, off-cycle placements, or graduate roles)

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation principles, and investment fundamentals

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel financial modelling

  • Demonstrated interest in private equity, real assets, and GP-led investment structures

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean team
